Carnegie Mellon University

East Campus, Pittsburgh, PA

SGH was the structural engineer for a 650-car garage structure, which was designed to be constructed during the summer break. The design met the university's schedule and durability objectives using a structural steel frame with composite steel beams spanning 60 ft. The driving surface is a post-tensioned concrete slab and the steel has a zinc-rich, high-performance coating system.
